CIBC Mellon is 50-50 jointly owned by Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. CIBC Mellon Global Securities Services Company is a sister company to CIBC Mellon Trust Company. In his role at CIBC Mellon, James is responsible for designing, promoting, and maintaining an enterprise-wide risk management framework that allows the organization to provide assurance to the Senior Management team, Board of Directors, Shareholders and Regulators that risks are being appropriately measured, managed and reported. |
James started his career with Canada Trust in 1997, and moved to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada (OSFI) in 1999 where he was responsible for supervising a portfolio of Canadian financial institutions.
James holds an MBA from York University and both a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from Lakehead University. He is also a CFA Charterholder and holds the professional designations of Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and Professional Risk Manager (PRM).
James currently serves on Lakehead University’s Board of Governors, where he is the Chair of the University’s Audit and Risk Management Committee.
