James started his career with Canada Trust in 1997, and moved to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada (OSFI) in 1999 where he was responsible for supervising a portfolio of Canadian financial institutions.
James holds an MBA from York University and both a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from Lakehead University. He is also a CFA Charterholder and holds the professional designations of Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and Professional Risk Manager (PRM).
James currently serves on Lakehead University’s Board of Governors, where he is the Chair of the University’s Audit and Risk Management Committee.
