Water For Future Generations

Water for Future Generations is a cross continental canoeing expedition to raise awareness about water-related environmental issues and inspire leadership among politicians, business owners, and ordinary citizens. The organizer and paddler of the expedition, Seth Wotten, will be canoeing from the southeastern to the far northwestern end of Canada over the course of 2006, 2007, and 2008 (Montreal, QC to Tuktoyaktuk, NWT).

Water is one of the most vitally important resources on this planet. It is important to our people for our survival and health, as a means of transport, and as a setting and vehicle for recreation. It also sustains all life on this planet, nourishing the food that we eat and the resources we depend on. This expedition is calling for political leadership in developing a Canadian water act. It is also calling for ordinary citizens to give water further consideration and take action. We must ensure that our water remains pure and plentiful for future generations. Explore this site and take action to help the cause!

Seth arrived in Fort McMurray, Alberta on September 9th to complete year 2 of the expedition! He will be working to post all of his photos, journals, and water reflections in the coming weeks. For more information about Seth's trip, visit his webpage at:  http://www.wffg.ca/index.php.
