Homecoming
Lakehead University, Lakehead University Student Union (LUSU), and the Lakehead Alumni Association are working together to prepare an exciting week of festivities for Homecoming 2010. Brought to you this year by Porter Airlines, the events kick off on Tuesday, September 28th, run through the weekend, and promise to bring out everyone’s Thunderwolves pride! Some of the events scheduled so far are:
Tuesday, September 28th: Tankard Tuesday @ 7:00 pm ‘til close – Best of the Thunderwolves
Come enjoy a famous tankard at the Outpost and watch the “Best Of” Lakehead’s sports games. Dress in your favorite team jersey for a chance to win great prizes!
Wednesday, September 29th: Wrestle Mania @ 11:00 am ‘til 2:00 pm
Come out to The Quad to joust a friend, sumo a wrestler, and get some FREE eats at the Alumni BBQ!
Thursday, September 30th: Pub Night @ 9:00 pm ‘til close – Naughty Jocks & Classy Cheerleaders
Come out to Pub Night at the Outpost all dressed up and win prizes! This is a 19+ event, and ID is required.
Friday, October 1st: Tailgate Party @ 4:00 pm ‘til 6:00 PM
First Hockey Game of the Season @ 7:00 pm (Fort William Gardens)
It’s the first Thunderwolves Hockey Game of the season! You definitely don’t want to miss it! Get pumped up for the big game at the Outpost Tailgate Party – live music, body painting, and a chance to win prizes when you wear blue and gold! This is an all-ages event, ID required. There will be free busing from the Outpost to and from the game. Advanced game tickets will be available at the LUSU office.
Saturday, October 2nd: White-Out for Men’s Basketball @ 6:00 pm
Come out to The Study Coffeehouse for the Men’s Basketball pregame party! Get your noisemakers, newspapers, and face painting here. This is an all-ages event, ID required. Advanced game tickets will be available at the LUSU office.
In addition to these fun events, the “Raffle 4 Restlers” to support Lakehead University wrestlers will be taking place. First prize is a pair of Porter Airline tickets! Other prizes include a signed Thunderwolves Hockey jersey and Thunderbucks for your own LU gear! Tickets will be available at the LUSU Office and Alumni Relations Office and are $2 each, or 3 for $5. Draw date is Friday, October 1st at 5:30 pm in The Outpost.
