Luke Nicol
Alumni Association President, Bill Keeler, and Board Member, Diane Thompson, attended the 2011 Annual Student Juried and Major Studio Exhibitions on Friday, March 11, at The Thunder Bay Art Gallery and selected visual artist Luke Nicol’s drawing, titled “Canoeing” for this year’s alumni art purchase.
Luke Nicol graduated from Lakehead University’s visual arts program in 2003, majoring in painting and sculpture. Born in Thunder Bay, his landscape paintings portray the raw, natural beauty and purity of Lake Superior. Luke also likes to experiment with his compositions, by painting in a surreal style. His paintings have been exhibited at many locations in Thunder Bay, Atikokan, Toronto and Duluth.
