![]() | Mike Nitz, Badmin '04Originally from Scarborough, Michael Nitz relocated to Thunder Bay to attend Lakehead University on the basis of the high praise the Kinesiology program received from friends who are alumni. After some time in the program, Michael realized his skills were better suited to the corporate world and transferred to the faculty of Business. Upon graduation with a BAdmin. in 2004, Michael understood the importance of retaining Lakehead graduates in the North and chose to stay in Northwestern Ontario. After a very successful year with a local financial institution, Michael was offered a Branch Manager opportunity with RBC in both Nipigon and Geraldton. An active member of each community he has lived in, Michael has held seats on more than a dozen different boards and committees, including the Chamber of Commerce and the Young Professionals Network of Thunder Bay. For his efforts, the community of Nipigon recognized him with a Lakehead Fellowship nomination in 2006. Although unsuccessful, he was very honoured to be nominated and recognizes that his achievements to date were due, in part, to the excellent experiences and knowledge he gained while at Lakehead. |
