Lakehead University would like to welcome Lee Chalker Gould, Lakehead University's Vice-President (University Advancement) beginning March 8, 2010.
Lee graduated in 1992 from the University of Guelph with an HBSc in Geomorphology. He took a Canadian Gift Planning Course from the Canadian Association of Gift Planners in 2000, and completed a Facilitative Leadership Diploma from the Schulich School of Business at York University in 2004. From 1999 to 2002, he was an instructor at Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology in Barrie, Ontario.
Since 2007, Lee has served as Vice-President of Communications and Director of Community Relations with Runnymede Healthcare Centre in Toronto. He has held a number of other positions that have added to his experience, including Executive Director at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation (Cambridge, Ontario); Acting President and Vice-President of Communications with the Scarborough Hospital Foundation (Toronto); Senior Manager of Fund Development and Marketing with the Canadian Diabetes Association (Toronto); Development and Membership Services Manager with Ducks Unlimited Canada (Winnipeg and Barrie); and Manager of Chapter Development with Child Find Ontario Incorporated (Oakville, Ontario).
Some of Lee's fundraising milestones include establishing an autonomous fundraising foundation to support construction of a new state-of-the-art facility for Runnymede Healthcare Centre, designing and implementing successful integrated fund development strategies that attracted new donors and increased overall mission support from $1.4 million to $3.2 million in 18 months for the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation, and successfully recruiting and mentoring the senior volunteer leadership responsible for a $12 million capital campaign for the Scarborough Hospital Foundation.
