Two Aboriginal Honourary Doctorate recipients at Convocation 2010
At Convocation 2010, Lakehead University bestowed honourary doctorates on two well known Aboriginal individuals; Tomson Highway and Tony Belcourt. On Friday May 28th, a Doctor of Letters was presented to Tomson Highway, the award winning Cree novelist, children's author, and playwright. The next morning, a Doctor of Laws was presented to Tony Belcourt, a leader in Canada's Metis community. The Lakehead University Aboriginal Alumni Chapter would like to congratulate both recipients on receiving this great honour.
