Visual Arts Students
Lakehead University Visual Arts students showcased their works at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery for the Annual Juried Exhibition (March 4-27th) and the Major Studio Exhibition (March 4-20th). Opening night was well-attended and took place on March 11. The evening celebrated the culmination of each student’s hard work, talent and creativity. With 85 pieces selected for the Juried Exhibition, and 50 pieces in the Major Studio Exhibition, visitors of the gallery were invited to explore a range of work from paintings, drawings, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, mixed media and video.
This year, the Alumni Association, Philpot and Delgaty Insurance, Lakehead University, and the Thunder Bay Art Gallery were sponsors of this event. A total of 49 awards and over $6,500 in awards and prizes were made possible thanks to the continued support of local businesses, community members, individuals, faculties, and departments at Lakehead University.
