Clinical Psychology student receives international leadership award


The Department of Psychology is pleased to announce that Chad Keefe, an MA student in Clinical Psychology, has been awarded the 2015-2016 Wilson Presidential Leadership Award from Psi Chi.

This award was given due to his accomplishments when he served as the President of the Lakehead University’s Psi Chi Chapter during the 2014-2015 academic year.

Lakehead’s Biorefining Research Institute creates important committee

A new advisory committee will provide direction to Lakehead University’s Biorefining Research Institute that will benefit Northwestern Ontario’s forestry sector.

The advisory committee is comprised of individuals from academia, government and industry.

“This committee is very important to the BRI because it will provide feedback and direction that we need to achieve our goals and objectives,” said Dr. Lew Christopher, Director of the BRI.

Exceptional individuals will be celebrated at Lakehead’s Convocation

Lakehead University will recognize five exceptional people at this year’s Convocation Ceremonies on Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28 at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium.

The Hon. Jean Charest, Helen Cromarty, and Dr. Keijo Virtanen will each receive an honorary doctorate for their work in politics, health care, and research on Finnish immigration to Canada, respectively.
